St Germain is the liqueur created in the artisanal French manner from freshly hand-picked elderflower blossoms. In 2018, I was approached for a freelance project to work on a bespoke design for their bottles as part of a visual merchandising display and to be sold as limited editions in Selfridges London.
The Project
Commissioned to design a motif to represent the rustic nature of its' manufacturing process & champion the main ingredient elderflowers.
Each bottle of St‑Germain is individually numbered to reflect the year in which the flowers were picked & to further this unique level of personalisation I hand painted the motifs on the bottles live in Selfridges over the course of two days. These were then used for the VM display & in the windows of arguably the most iconic store in London.
I chose a simplified, stylised elderflower illustration using a hard-wearing lacquer white pen - the effect being subtle, delicate and each one as unique as the bottles of liqueur themselves.
